You are clearly uninformed and lacking fundamental information.
We are an organization that thrives on delivering results by developing young players. The tournament director contacted US to play and after 5 phone calls... we decided to add out 10U team (with FOUR nine yr. old players) to play in the 11U group. Most of these players played in this very tournament last year. Please call me to discuss details you are not capable of knowing prior to slander. We are honored to have played the game with our children and hope all have gained positive direction for doing so.
We are the Cincy Static and will always take the high road when see false accusations like these. I hope your organization, which is not mentioned, can move forward in a positive direction and I hope you are not coaching them in this same manner in which you are back dooring our wonderful organization.

This is supposed to be for the kids! It's great that your kids will enjoy a 1st place trophy playing in a rec tournament for additional practice.
Has anyone thought about the negative impact this situation has on the rec teams - these 10&11 year old girls - that are still learning - some of which have never played ball before - and may have only had 1 or 2 practices before the tournament began?
Regardless if or how many times you were asked to play if that was the case, it is a REC tournament and you are a SELECT team!
I'm sure CC will lose returning teams next year if this is how they are going to run their tournaments.
Enjoy your trophies!

You are correct about being for the kids!!!!! I didn't think my young team would even compete. We are young and looking to learn. NO living through the kids here as I assume you are eluding to. Been there done that.
I will be coaching 10U next year and you can bet your bottom dollar that we won't be there after this unforgettable experience. I'm ethical in every way and you have turned this into a negative issue after the tournament directors approved this. I didn't push or and beg to get into this tournament. I didn't know it existed until the phone rang... I made sure "they" were ok even after they provided game times. The tournament director talked to me again during my game Sunday. I offered to leave (forfeit) and go home at that time. I'm honoring my end of the deal and if others had a problem they should have talked to me face-to-face instead of the back-and-forth message board mess. As stated, they know who we are and what we are-and the fact is our girls are very young and are on a level playing field.
Yeah, we have kids that are inexperienced as well- especially with 1 of the girls is only 8, 3 are 9yrs old, and the rest are 10. Most of the 10's are not tunning 11 till after our season is over. One played with a broken finger that is beign operated on tomorrow because I was short players.
Trophies are meaningless to me and our team at this point.
By the way, to whom am I speaking with? I've opened myself up to you, you should send me a personal email if you want to continue this conversation. My email is lrogers@waynepumps.com and I'm always willing to discuss this issue.

Ball4kids: I believe Les asked the tournament director several times if there would be a problem if they played up. They played up, with several young 9yrs olds. Did you see how small this team is? Wow never thought any 11 and 12 year olds would be upset playing this very young 10u team. It’s not about trophies so we will not accept any from this tournament. But when the tournament fails because people like you are whining and not coaching or teaching your girls anything this tournament will die. You obviously know of our organization so post you name and quit hiding behind the computer. Oh Les, no more beating up on older teams because you are suppose to be select. Take those big bad girls where and play where they belong. I wonder how many of the other teams girls were upset or was it just the parents and coaches hmmm! Rob Epling Cincy Static repling@shp.com

I'm sure CC will lose returning teams next year if this is how they are going to run their tournaments. Enjoy your trophies! As a Parent of a Daughter who played "Rec Ball" for a number of years, we used to go to the "Select" tournaments to expose the girls to better competition and to get them used to seeing what they will face down the road if they continue to play. If the Tourney Director approved them, playing up an age bracket none the less, then you should take it up with him/her, not the Static. It's a poor lesson you teach your daughter when things aren't going your way,"Complain, whine , moan".Instead of, "if you want to get better, you have to beat the better teams". NOBODY within the Static organization is a "Trophy Hunter", so you couldn't be more misguided. If you knew the FREE time these people devote to their teams and trying to make the game better , it would make your head spin. These Girls work their tales off to get out on that field and play Softball and for you to demean their efforts is beyond belief.

My name is Tracy Hanna, I am one of the assistant coaches for the U11 Corpus team you beat last week. I don't think anyone is taking credit away from your girls on the field and the efforts they put forth. I am all for playing against stronger teams to make our team better; however, having had only 2 practices before the tournament, we surely were not prepared. I believe the biggest dissappointment for me (in a selfish way) was the super skills of your pitchers (compliment to your team) - we will not face ball speeds of that magnitude against any rec team this year in our league - your pitching abilities would better align with a U14 rec team. I feel outside the pitching, we would be on a more competitive level. I also watched part of your game on Sunday and wondered whether you had a different pitcher on the mound or maybe she wasn't at her peak - seemed that the game was more competitive than the previous game.
It is unfortunate the bad publicity in both directions and that either the rec or select teams (girls and coaches) should be at the receiving end of any of the frustrations.
Your team (and you're not the only select team in this situation) was allowed in the tournament, and your girls came out and did what they needed to do - they should not be deprived of receiving their trophies for their efforts because some of us parents and coaches didn't agree with select teams being included... guess it wouldn't have been an issue if you lost - right?
Good luck in your season - and hope the girl with the broken finger is doing well and will recover soon.

If the person that started this, is who I think he is; I believe his daughter plays on the Corpus Christi 14U team (Which he does coach) and they recruited 2-14U Static girls to play for them the first day of the Tournament while 2 of their rec. girls sat on the bench watching them win. And they won A LOT to a very little, maybe even A LOT to nothing!!! Hmmmm, that should make you all think...

dear dennis it doesnt matter if we play select 14 or not our rec team will play u whenever. thats good practice for us its about the younger girls 9 10 11 getting the pants beat off them, by a select team if you think thats fair and has no effect on the younger girls then u should think about it for a little while

This message board is ridiculous. If the coach of the 11U team has made a point to get on here and type up her own blog saying that she commends the girls and welcomes the challenge as a way for her team to learn and grow, then why are you still complaining. You're an adult, and I'm tired of hearing you whine, when you seem to be the only person making a stink about it. Quit posting and if you have an issue buck up and don't hide behind a computer to whine and complain. Quite frankly I think it is hypocritical for YOU to be complaining about select teams playing in rec ball and maybe that is why you continue to hide behind an email address.... DROP IT ALREADY!
Elizabeth Hogel
P.s. Don't you parents and coaches have anything better to do than blog/whine/argue about softball all day?

I'm done after this... and thanks to those (on both sides) that have positive comments...
Unreal. Yes, we practice only 1 time per week and play in league games on Tuesday nights (3 to date) with other rec ball and select teams. 4-5 times a week is so ridiculous and you must be the most nieve person on the planet! Get a life and get real, they are 8-10 yrs old. Yeah, let's burn them out in one year. Remember, developement involves a good plan and good coaching. Not over the top and crazy schedules.
Yes, we have several pitchers which all teams do or try to have.
I'm glad our web site is getting traffic. Please keep checking us out and we hope you want to keep up the positive theme!!
For those real smart ones that believe we practice 5 days aweek, I have a bridge for sale and lots of ocean view property. The bridge will take you to a realistic place!!!
I'm done. If you want to schedule scrimmage games, please contact me. Les

To Tracy Hanna (I ran out of space on the last entry...)
we did throw a different pitcher on Sunday. Both are of high quality for only being 10 years old. The one you mentioned seeing on Friday has never been to lessons. Just a talented player and joy to coach!! Our Sunday pitcher was a Harrison rec ball player.
